Swoon installation in progress
Swoon arrived at the ICA on Monday and we have been hard at work on her new, site-specific installation. When complete, the installation will take over most of the first floor. It will extend from the elevator atrium to the lobby and soar forty feet up to the ceiling. The work, titled Anthropocene Extinction, will be composed of streams of intricately cut paper connecting key sculptural elements within the installation—including a 400-pound, suspended bamboo sculpture.
Here are some photos taken over the last three days. This is the part of the installation that will hang in the elevator atrium.

Another layer has been added to the bottom of the sculpture. You can see Swoon working on it.

Lifting the sculpture to work on the bottom some more. When complete, it will be suspended in the atrium so that it is visible from outside, too.
